Karl has been heavily involved in Michigan Rugby since starting his undergraduate studies at UM in 2002. After serving as captain of the team in 2007, he went on to play with a few other squads including the Midwest Thunderbirds, Michigan All Stars, Massey in West Auckland, NZ, the Brooklyn Roosters, and the Michigan men's club in Ann Arbor where he was captain and president from 2009-2015. He has served on the men's rugby Student Advisory Council since 2013 and has helped to plan the Olde Blue rugby alumni weekend every year since 2008. He lives in Ann Arbor with his wife and son and works in management consulting for McKinsey & Company.
