Alena Olsen has been involved with Team USA’s Women’s Rugby 7s program for the past four years, as a players association representative, captain and most recently, as a Rugby World Cup participant. She holds 10 World Series appearances, 3 World Series medals, and a Pan-American games silver medal.

She graduated from the University of Michigan in 2018 with a degree in Environmental Sciences and received her MBA in project management from Devry Keller in 2022. 

Her love for rugby began and now returns to UM with the goal of growing the game and increasing access to play. Additionally she works to build sustainability in sport as an EcoAthlete. Alena has, through her inclusive, positive, solutions-oriented approach, engaged fans, rugby players as well as sponsors to take climate action through a variety of climate campaigns and initiatives
